Registration department to increase civic amenities: Anisul

Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq today said Directorate of Registration has been turned into department to increase civic amenities.

"We are constructing district registry and sub-registry offices with all modern facilities in all the district and upazilas. Already we have built 48 district registry buildings and 233 sub-registry buildings, Anisul said, according to a news agency.

The law minister came up with the observations while addressing officials of registration department, who called on Anisul to express their gratitude for turning their directorate into department.

The government has already given approval to build 14 4-storied district registry buildings and 98 sub-registry buildings. After completion of this project, no district registrar or sub-registrar would have to perform their duty at rented offices, he added.

Senior Secretary Mohammad Shaidul Haque of Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Division, Law and Justice Division Secretary Abu Saleh Sheikh Md Zahirul Haque and Inspector General of registration Khan Md Abdul Mannan were present on the occasion, among others.
