Pry schoolteachers suspend hunger strike
Assistant teachers of the government primary schools on Monday called of their hunger strike after a meeting with Primary and Mass Education Minister Mostafizur Rahman at his residence.
Tapan Kumar Mondol, a member of the delegation, confirmed the matter to Jago News.
Mostafizur said, “A fruitful discussion with the assistant teachers was held today.... We will consider their demand for removing discrimination, if any.”
Asadur Rahman, general secretary of Bangladesh Primary Assistant Teachers Alliance, said: “We have temporary postponed our hunger strike as the minister has given us assurance to meet our demand.”
