Road accidents kill 4 in Rajshahi

Four persons were killed in three separate road accidents in the district today, police said.

Two of the deceased were identified as Nazrul Islam, 50, and Jewel Rana, 27, reports BSS.

Nazrul Islam was killed on the spot when a speeding truck dashed his motorbike from behind in Baneshwar area on Rajshahi-Natore highway under Puthiya upazila, said Sayedur Rahman Bhuiyan, Officer-in-Charge of Puthiya Upazila.

Hipzur Alam Munshi, Officer-in-Charge of Godagari Police Station, said Jewel Rana was killed when a truck knocked him down in Kamarpara area under the upazila while he was returning home riding on motorbike this afternoon.

Two other persons were killed when a sand-laden truck dashed them from behind in Chongatala area under Charghat upazila. They were heading towards Baneshwar area riding on motorbike. Their identity could not be known immediately, said Nibaran Chandra Barman, Officer-in-Charge of Charghat Police Station.

Separate cases were recorded with the respective police stations in these connections.
