BRTA reduces motorcycle reg fees

Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) reduced registration fees for motorcycles by 33 to 43 percents, which may vary on engine capacities.

It is confirmed through a circular published by BRTA on Monday.

BRTA said the registration cost of motorcycles with 100cc engines is cut down to Tk 9,313 from Tk 13,913.

Owners of motorcycles with engines over 100cc will have to spend Tk 12,073 for registration, down from Tk 21,275.

From January 1 this year, RFID-tagged retro-reflective licence plates issued by the BRTA have been made mandatory.

According to BRTA, the number of registered motorcycles in Bangladesh is more than 1.25 million while 524, 885 driving licences have been issued.
