Missing journo Utpal found in N’ganj

Utpal Das, a senior reporter of an online news portal who had been missing for two months and ten days, was found in Narayanganj on Tuesday midnight.

He called his mother Bimola Rani Das through his own Banglalink number, which remained switched off since he disappeared over two months ago.

“I am now in Bholta, and I am coming home,” he told his mother.

His father Chittaranjan Das said, “We are eagerly waiting for him.”

His friend journalist Rajib Ahmed, who works at Daily Samakal, said: “Utpal was dropped off at Bhulota area of the district by several unidentified persons.

The 29-year-old, who lived in the capital’s Fakirapool, disappeared after leaving the Purboposhcimbd offices at the city’s Motijheel commercial hub on October 5.

On Nov 5, Utpal was reported to have been spotted in Tangail’s Mirzapur Upazila, but the police later dismissed it as fake information.
