Petition for cancellation of BNP’s RCC mayoral candidate rejected

The High Court on Thursday rejected a writ petition filed for the cancellation of nomination of BNP’s candidate Kausar Zaman Babla for the upcoming Rangpur City Corporation (RCC) polls.
The HC bench of Justice Salma Masud Chowdhury and Justice A.K.M. Zahirul Hoque passed the rejection order after the hearing.
On Wednesday, state-owned Sonali Bank filed a writ petition seeking the cancellation of the nomination of BNP candidate on the allegation of loan default charges.
The RCC polls are slated for December 21.
