SI, ASI suspended over bribery

Sub-Inspector (SI) Devashish and Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Shafiar Rahman of Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station were suspended in connection with taking bribery on Saturday.

A departmental probe committee has also been formed to inquire into the allegation.

The Committee already started their investigation from Saturday night.

Biplob Kumar Sarker, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of police of Tejgaon Zone confirmed the mater.

Allegation raised that the policemen conducted a drive at a travel agency near by the police station and picked up three people along with 45 passports.

They demanded Tk 3 lakh to release them. The detainees paid Tk 70,000 immediately and got free in condition to pay the rest sum within a short time and took the passports.
