ACC arrests executive engineer of CAAB
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) arrested executive engineer of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) Md Asir Uddin from the Dhaka airport on charges of acquiring illegal wealth.
"We arrested Asir Uddin from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport this noon in connection with a case filed for allegedly amassing wealth beyond the known source of income and concealing asset information," deputy director (public relations) Pranab Kumar Bhattacharjee told BSS this afternoon.
Deputy Director of the commission Mahfuza Khatun filed the graft case against Asir Uddin with Ramna Model Police Station on June 14, 2017.
ACC sources said the case was filed against him on charges of acquiring wealth of Taka 2.49 crore beyond known sources of income and concealing information of assets worth Taka 63.25 lakh in the wealth statement submitted to the commission on November 19, 2016.
