BNP leader stabbed dead

A leader of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) was stabbed to death at Lohapatti area of the district town on Wednesday night.

The deceased was identified as Ferdous Hossain, assistant organizing secretary of the district BNP and resident of Birampur area of the town.

Quoting witnesses, Officer-in-charge of Kotwali Model Police Station Ilias Hossain said some miscreants intercepted Ferdous at Lohapatti in the night and locked into an altercation with him.

At one stage, the miscreants hacked the BNP leader mercilessly, leaving him injured.

Later, he was whisked off to Jessore Medical College Hospital where on-duty doctors declared him dead.
