Voting stayed at 56 centre’s

Voting at 56 centres has been stayed because of irregularities and clashes.

Assistant Secretary of Election Commission Ashfaqur Rahman confirmed the matter on Tuesday.

According to source, the voting ended with violence and anomalies in Noakhali, Laxmipur, Barisal, Bhola, Sirajgnaj, Bagerhat, Patuakhali and Satkhira districts.

Dozens of people, including three election officials, were injured in the election violence in various places of the districts.

Ruling Awami League has claimed the voting was held in festive mood, but rival BNP alleged large-scale rigging.
