Qulkhwani of Annisul Huq held

Qulkhwani of late Mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Annisul Huq was held today at Gulshan Azad Masjid after Asr prayers.

Special doa and milad mahfil were held seeking eternal peace of the departed soul.

Awami League general secretary and Road, Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan, former minister and Awami League leader Col (retd) Faruk Khan, Shamsul Haque Tuku, AKM Rahmatullah, BNP leaders Moudud Ahmed and Abdul Awal Mintoo were present on the occasion, among others.

Huq's widow Rubana Huq, son Navidul Huq and younger brother and Chief of Army Staff General Abu Belal Muhammad Shafiul Huq were present from the family.

Annisul Huq, who had been undergoing treatment at a hospital in London, breathed his last there around 4.23 pm (London time) on November 30 at the age of 65.

He was laid to eternal rest at Banani graveyard on December 2.

Huq had been kept on life support since November 27 as his condition deteriorated. Later, doctors found infection in his lungs. Earlier, the late Mayor was diagnosed with cerebral vasculitis at the hospital.
