2 election officials shot in Noakhali

The miscreants shot an assistant presiding officer and a polling officer at a polling centre in Char King Government Girls School of Hatiya upazila in Noakhali on Tuesday morning.

The injured were identified as Shahadat Hossain, assistant presiding officer, and Abdul Awal, polling officer.

According to source, the supporters of Awami league backed chairman candidate Mohiuddin Badiuzzam and the supporters of rival candidate of Mohin locked in a clash at the very beginning time of taking vote.

At that time the miscreants shot two election officials. Later the injured were taken to Hatiya upazila health complex.
