The per capita income rose by US$ 145 to US$ 1,610 in fiscal year 2016-17 from US$ 1,465 in FY16, according to Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS), reports BSS.
Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal disclosed it while briefing journalists at the NEC conference room after an ECNEC meeting on Tuesday.
In a provisional calculation in May this year, BBS expected that the per capita income would stand at US$ 1,602 by the end of the FY17.
But in the final calculation the per capita income stood at US$ 1,610, US$ 8 more from the provisional estimation.
The minister said the per capita income has increased as the country's economic growth also witnessed a rise in FY17.
The growth of gross domestic product (GDP) for the last fiscal growth accelerated to 7.28 percent, he added.
