The Minister on Tuesday said this while briefing to the journalists after visiting the houses of the hindu community in Rangpur.

On Friday, a man was killed and 20 others were hurt after police fired rubber bullets and teargas shells as violence flared up at Thakurpara village over an alleged Facebook post “demeaning Islam”.

At least 30 Hindu houses were burned and vandalised as religious zealots ran riot in the village and staged demonstrations blocking Dinajpur-Rangpur highway.

On Saturday, police filed two cases over the incident with Kotwali and Gangachara police stations.

On November 5, Titu Chandra Roy, son of late Khogen Roy of the village, allegedly made the Facebook post.
