Bangladesh 6th most vulnerable country to climate change
Germanwatch, a German think-tank advocating for the prevention of dangerous climate change, launched its latest Global Climate Risk Index 2018 report on the sidelines of COP23 in Bonn, Germany on November 9.
Bangladesh has been ranked 6 among the top ten most climate-affected countries in the report.
According to the Index, the 10 most affected countries of the report, the countries most affected in 2016 are Haiti, Zimbabwe and Fiji, which were previously not in the list - thus showing how unpredictable climate change is.
Bangladesh is being ranked among the worst climate-affected countries since 2011. Myanmar from Asia ranked 3 last year.
Though the US suffered a total loss of 474 million dollars in 2016, President Donald Trump vows to retreat from the Paris Agreement.
