2 villagers shot dead by robbers in Faridpur

Two people were killed and two others injured when a gang of robbers opened fire at them while fleeing after committing a robbery at Mridhadangi area of Charbhadrasan upazila in Faridpur on Wednesday night.

The deceased were identified as Md. Sajjad Mridha, 43 and his cousin Sentu Mridha, 38.

Of the injured, one was sent to Dhaka in a critical condition for better treatment.

In this connection, Ram Prasad Bhakta, officer-in-charge of Charbhadrasan Police Station, told Jagonews24.com that, “A gang of robbers stormed into the house of Anser Fakir during a wedding programme and looted valuable goods. Later they also swooped on the house of Sajjad Mridha and Sentu Mridha and shot them as they tried to resist the robbers.”

Later the local people sent them to Faridpur Medical College and Hospital where the doctors declared them dead.
