14 Rohingyas die, 217 get treatment at CMCH
A total of 14 Rohingyas have died while 217 others, who suffered bullet and bomb injuries in the persecution of military juntas of Myanmar in its Rakhain state, have been admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) over the last two months, reports BSS.
Of the injured 52 underwent treatment at CMCH till November 4 while 151 Rohingyas returned to their refugee camps in Ukhia and Teknaf upazilas of Cox’s bazaar district after receiving treatment.
This was disclosed by Hasan Mohammad Showkat, Deputy Commissioner of Detective Branch (DB) of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (North and South) at a divisional-level meeting on identifying of illegal intruders of Rohingya nationals at Divisional Commissioner Office here last evening.
The admitted Rohingya patients are suffering from critical bomb and bullet injuries.
Doctors present at the meeting informed that many patients have under gone surgical operations but their conditions are improving.
However, the injured Rohingya people are still coming to CMCH for better treatment.
Divisional Commissioner Mohamman Abdul Mannan, presided over the function while officials of divisional commissioner office, police, Border Guard Bangladesh and other concerned offices were present during the meeting.
