Bangabandhu’s 7th March speech played across the country

The historic 7th March speech of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was played across the country today as part of a seven-day programme of Awami League as UNESCO recognized it as a world documentary heritage, according to a news agency.

AL also organised colourful rallies at all educational institutes across the country today, the second day of the week-long programme.

The programmes were taken at a secretary-level meeting of AL held at party President Sheikh Hasina's political office at Dhanmondi in the capital on November 1.

As part of the seven-day programmes, prayers at religious institutions would be organised on November 5, processions will be brought out across the country excepting Dhaka on November 6, seminars and discussions will be held on November 7, cultural programmes will be held on November 8 and rally will be held at 2.30pm at Suhrawardy Udyan on November 9.

The historic 7th March speech of Bangabandhu has been included in the Memory of the World International Register, a list of world's important documentary heritage maintained by the UNESCO.

The Memory of the World International Register is a list of documents having global significance. The objective of creating the International Register is to ensure preservation of, and access to, documentary heritage in various parts of the world.
