4 killed in Dinajpur road crash

Four people were killed and seven others injured in a road accident as a pickup van and an auto-rickshaw collided in Dinajpur early Saturday.

The accident took place on Dinajpur-Thakurgaon highway at Shalbon area of Birganj Upazila in the district at 6.30am.

Identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Abu Akkas Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Birganj Police Station told Jagonews24.com that, “Two auto-rickshaws carrying pilgrimages were going to Rash Mela at Kantanagar Temple in Dinajpur from Jaldhaka Upazila of Nilphamari District. A pickup van collided with them when they were reaching at Shalban area.”  

“At that time, four people were killed on the spot and seven others injured. The injured people were sent to Birganj upazila health complex,” he added.
