Jamaat’s hartal underway

A countrywide down-to-dusk hartal enforced by Jamaat-e-Islami protesting the Supreme Court verdict that upheld former Al-Badr leader Mir Quasem Ali’s death sentence began On Wednesday morning.

The shutdown began at 6am and it will continue till 6pm. Vehicular movement was seen normal in the capital.

A large number of law enforcers were kept deployed in various places of the city.

No untoward incident took place till filing the report at 10:40am.
