4 cops hurt in Bogra cocktail attacks
Four members of police were wounded in cocktail attacks by the associates of an arrested local Juba League leader at Dublagari bazar area under Shahjahanpur upazila in Bogra district.
The miscreant attacked on them while conducting a drive to recover illegal arms early on Tuesday.
Police also fired at one of his leg of the Juba League leader, Sajedul Islam Liton, as he was trying to flee.
The injured policemen are Sub-Inspector Kalachand Ghosh, Constable Abdul Hamid, Meher Ali, and Sabuj Mia, of Shahjahanpur Police Station.
Officer-in-charge of Shahjahanpur Police Station Alamgir Hossain confirmed the incident to the journalists.
He said, liton was arrested in Mamunur Rashid Manik murder case, a sales executive of Grameen First Distribution Company, on Monday night. Later, police conducted a drive taking him at Dublagari bazar area to seize illegal arms.
During the drive, cohorts of Liton exploded several cocktails in a bid to take away him, leaving the four policemen injured, he added.
