Khaleda urges Myanmar to take back Rohingyas
BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia urged the Myanmar government to take back the Rohingyas who fled violence in Rakhine State of the country.
“We urged the Myanmar government to take back the Rohingya people and give them their rights and citizenship,” former Prime Minister said while she was visiting Rohingya camps in Ukhia upazila of Cox’s Bazar on Monday.
She criticized the Bangladesh government saying, “The government failed to take proper steps to repatriate the Rohingyas.”
The main opposition leader outside the parliament also said, “The government failed to supply relief materials properly to the Rohingyas rather they made obstacles in different ways.
At least 605,000 Rohingyas entered Bangladesh to avoid what the United Nations termed as “the textbook example of ethnic cleansing” by Myanmar army and the Buddhists in Rakhine State.
