Suspected dacoit killed in ‘gunfight’

An alleged ringleader of an inter-district robber gang was reportedly killed in a gunfight with police in Kushundi Boro Bridge area of Magura Sadar upazila in Magura early on Monday.

The deceased is Aminul Islam, a resident of Azampur area of the upazila.

He was accused in three robbery cases filed with Magura Sadar police and Kushtia Sadar police.

Confirming the matter, Magura Sadar police officer-in-charge Sudarshan Kumar Roy told that, a pistol, one magazine, five bullets and two machetes were recovered from the spot.
