RAB DG for effective community policing

Director General of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Benazir Ahmed today put emphasis on making the community policing effective to build a crime-free society.

The RAB Director General was addressing a meeting at Police Lines parade ground here today as chief guest. Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) organized the meeting to mark the 'Community Policing Day-2017' being observed for the first time in the country.

With RMP Commissioner Mahbubor Rahman in the chair, the meeting was also addressed by Abdul Wadud Dara, MP, Ayen Uddin, MP, former Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation AHM Khairuzzaman Liton, Vice-chancellor of Rajshahi University Prof Abdus Sobhan, President of Rajshahi Chamber of Commerce and Industry Md Muniruzzaman and Principal of Rajshahi College Prof Habibur Rahman also spoke.
The RAB Chief underscored the need for proactive attitude of officers of law-enforcing agencies including police for strengthening the community policing movement for a peaceful society.

Earlier, a colourful rally was brought out from the RMP office premises to mark the day. After parading various city streets, the rally ended at the meeting venue.
