SCBA demands action against 2 ministers
Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) urged the apex court to take legal action immediately against two ministers for their comments about the chief justice.
SCBA president Khandaker Mahbub Hossain on Sunday urged this at a press conference at the association auditorium.
He said the ministers’ comments about the CJ and a sub-judice matter is like a threat to the judiciary.
Khandaker expressed hope that the SC would take legal action in order to uphold the image of the judiciary.
On Saturday, addressing a discussion in the capital, the food minister said that the appeal in Jamaat-e-Islami leader Mir Quasem Ali`s case should be reheard by a reconstituted Appellate Division bench of the Supreme Court, keeping the chief justice out of it.
On the other hand, the liberation war affairs minister also made some observations during Saturday’s programme.
