Man arrested with 330 gm of gold at Dhaka airport

Customs Intelligence has arrested a man with 330 gm of gold at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka last evening.

The arrestee, Yusuf Chowdhury, 37, had returned from Dubai. He is a native of Chhagalnaiya upazila of Feni district, customs official said.

Acting on a tip-off, members of Customs Intelligence arrested Yusuf when he was passing through the green channel of the airport, reports BSS.

Mahbubul denied the allegation of carrying illegal gold during the primary interrogation by Customs intelligence officials. Later, they recovered 230 gram of gold from handle of his luggage and other 100 gram from his possession.

Yusuf was arrested in this connection.
