Drug-laden truck kills 2 cops

A drug-laden truck crushed two members of police under its wheels when they were on their duties at Kansat area in Chapainawabganj district early on Thursday.

The deceased are: Sub-Inspector of Shibganj Police Station Sadekul Islam and Sergeant Ataul Islam.

Confirming the matter, S M Moinul Islam, officer-in-charge of Shibganj Police Station said that, being informed, police members conducted a drive at Kansat.

‘They signaled the truck carrying drugs to stop, but the driver run it recklessly. The policemen chased the truck and took position in front of it while the drive ran over them, leaving them on the spot,’ he added said.
