Mahmood meets Sushma in New Delhi

Visiting Bangladesh Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood met with External Affairs Minister of India Sushma Swaraj on Wednesday, taking the close bilateral ties forward.

On Tuesday, Mahmood had termed the Bangladesh-Bhutan-India-Nepal (BBIN) sub-regional grouping as a game changer for the South Asian region.

Speaking at the inauguration of the three-day Raisina Dialogue, Mahmood said that Bangladesh due to its geo-strategic location was indispensable when it came to South Asian connectivity architecture.

‘In this connection, the BBIN will be a game changer,’ he said.

Last year the four South Asian countries signed the BBIN Motor Vehicle Agreement for free movement of traffic between these countries.
