Maritime ports asked to hoist signal no 3

Maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal no three as the well-marked low over West Central Bay and adjoining area intensified into a depression over the same area.

According to Bangladesh Meteorological Department, the depression was centred at 9am on Thursday about 865 kms Southwest of Chittagong port, 820 kms Southwest of Cox’s Bazar port, 745 kms South/Southwest of Mongla port and 740 kms South/Southwest of Payra port.

All fishing boat and trawler over North Bay and deep sea have been advised to come close to the coast and proceed with caution.

They are also advised not to venture into the deep sea.
