CJ Sinha off to Australia

Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha left Dhaka for Australia on Friday night after he secured government’s clearance for his overseas tour.

He left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport by a Singapore Airlines flight at 11:55pm.

Sinha had written to the president mentioning that he would stay abroad from October 13 till November 10.

On Thursday, the Law Ministry issued a gazette notification on the government order about Chief Justice Sinha’s leaving for Australia.

Sinha assumed office on January 17, 2015 as the country’s 21st Chief Justice. He will go on retirement on January 31 next.
