The students of the seven government colleges affiliated with Dhaka University suspended their demonstration following an assurance from the vice-chancellor of the university.

They came up with the decision after a meeting with DU VC Prof. Dr. Md. Akhteruzzaman at his office on Monday afternoon.

The protesters went to meet the VC with a number of demands including publication of the results of their honours final year examination.
