SC extends time for gazette notification on judges’ discipline

The Supreme Court on Sunday extended time until November 5 for issuing a gazette notification on the disciplinary rules for lower court judges.
The SC also set that day for next hearing regarding the matter.
A five-member bench of the Appellate Division headed by Justice Md Abdul Wahhab Miah, who is discharging the responsibilities of Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha at present, passed the order following a time petition moved by Attorney General Mahbubey Alam.
Earlier on August 20, the Supreme Court adjourned the hearing on the Masdar Hossain case till today.
