Rohingya woman detained at Shahjalal airport
Armed Police Battalion (APBN) detained a Rohingya woman, who tried to fly to Malaysia, at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Tuesday night.
The arrestee, Ramida Begum from Mongdu area of Myanmar, was living in Bangladesh for last one year, said Tarik Ahmed As Sadik, ASP (media) of the APBN.
“She made her passport using Manirampur of Jessore as fake address and got visa paying Tk 40,000 and 7,000 Malaysian Ringgit to four brokers in Chittagong.” The police officer said.
“She was scheduled to go to Malyasia on Tuesday on OD-161 flight of Malinda Air,” he added.
The four brokers are: Al Habiz Abdur Rahim, Md. Amir Hossain, Forkan and Joynal. The wife of Abdur Rahim came with Ramida at airport to see her off.
