3 on 15-day remand over priest murder

A Panchagarh court has placed three suspects on 15-day remand over priest killing at Deviganj upazila in Panchagarh district.

Senior judicial magistrate of Deviganj season judge court Marzia Khatun passed the order after hearing in the case on Tuesday.

The suspects are- Khalilur Rahman, 45, and Jahangir Hossain, 30, alleged members of banned militant outfit Jama`atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB);  and Babul Hossain, 31, an activist of Jamaat-e-Islami.

It is mentionable that, unidentified assailants attacked priest Jogeswar Dasadhikari, 50, of Sri Sri Sonto Gaurio temple on Sunday morning when he was preparing his offerings for the morning puja at the temple, about half a kilometre from the upazila headquarters.
