Govt to provide solar power to Rohingya camps: Quader

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Sunday said the government will provide solar power to Rohingya camps in the district.

“Solar power will be given to 12 makeshift Rohingya camps in the Cox's Bazar district at the directive of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,” he told reporters while distributing relief among Rohingyas in the district.

Quader said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has brightened image of Bangladesh before international community by giving shelter to over five lakh Rohingya people, who entered Bangladesh fleeing violence in Myanmar.

Quader, also general secretary of Awami League, said the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is dealing the Rohingya issue with wisdom and caution to end the crisis.

Organizing Secretary of Awami League Enamul Haque Shamim, Publicity Secretary Hasan Mahmud and local Lawmaker Saimum Sarwar Kamal, among others, were present on the occasion.
