7 killed as bus plunges into ditch in Comilla

At least seven people were killed and twenty others injured as a bus plunged into a roadside ditch on Dhaka-Chittagong highway at Chandina upazila in Comilla at 11.45am on Sunday.

Identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Jibon Chanda Hajari, Sub Inspector of Highway Police Station, told Jagonews24.com that “A Dhaka-bound bus of ‘Tisha Paribahan’ from Companyganj of Comilla fell into the road-side deep ditch after its driver lost control over the steering.”

At that time five people were killed on the spot and two others died after taking them to the hospital, he added.
