3 people held over priest killing
Police in a drive on Sunday night detained three suspected people in connection with the Debiganj temple attack in Panchagarh where a Hindu priest was killed and two devotees shot.
The two detainees are Khalilur Rahman and Babul Hosen, both of the members of JMB and absconder accused and remaining other is Jahangir Alam, an activist of Chhatra Shibir.
Inspector (investigation) of Debiganj Police Station Aiyub Ali confirmed the matter to the journalists.
Meanwhile, since 11am, locals formed a human chain at Bijoy Chattar in the upazila in a protest to the killing and demanding arrest of the attackers.
It is mentionable that, criminals slit the throat of a Hindu priest at a temple in Debiganj of Panchagarh and fled the scene firing shots and exploding homemade bombs, which injured two devotees on Sunday evening.
