Six Huji men held

Detectives in a drive held six men of banned Islamist outfit Harkatul Jihad Al Islami (Huji) from Jindabar Park area in the capital.

A laptop, a mobile phone and huge number of Jihadi books have been rescued from their possessions.

Maruf Hossain, Deputy Commissioner (Media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), confirmed the matter on Wednesday noon.

The arrestees are Sazzadur Rahman, commander of Kushtia zone, Mesbaur Rahman Prodip, driver of Kushtia Fire Service, Imam of a mosque Abul Bashar, Computer Ashraf, Aziz Babu and Shafiq Polash alias Bijoy.

According to police, a team of Detective Branch of Police (south) led by senior assistant commissioner Mahmuda Afroz Laki conducted a drive at Jindabahar Park area and arrested them while they were operating a secret meeting.
