‘No car day’ initiative for Thursday
Some young people have taken an initiative to observe ‘No car day’ program on Thursday.
They urged the all strata of people to use the public transport and not to drive their private car on this day.
Arafat Noman, a teacher of East West University recently posted a status on facebook, a popular social network that urged the people to aware about fuel saving.
In support of the program, a several hundred young people raised their voice about this and expressed their solidarity with the program.
No Car Day’s main objective is to promote public transportation. Public transportation helps to conserve energy and have lower emission because the amount of vehicles has been reduced.
No Car Day was originally started in preparation for the 2008 Summer Olympic Games that were being held in Beijing.
