Writ seeks bar on retd HC judges from practicing law at SC
A Supreme Court lawyer has filed a writ petition with the High Court seeking restriction on retired HC judges from practising law at the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court.
Advocate Younus Ali Akond submitted the writ petition with the writ section of the High Court on Monday morning.
The petition may be heard by the HC next week, Akond told the journalist.
According to the petition, the retired HC judges are permitted to practice law under Section 33 of the 15th amendment which is contradictory to the 1972 constitution.
He said it is contradictory as the 15th amendment of constitution has restored the original constitution of 1972 which does not allow them to practice law.
