Palestine president expresses sincere thanks to Bangladesh

The Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas expressed deep gratitude of the people and the government of Palestine to Bangladesh for its continued support and assistance to Palestine.

He also expressed sincere thanks for offering opportunities of higher studies for a good number of students as well as training of armed forces members of Palestine in Bangladesh.

The Palestinian president on Sunday said this during his short stopover at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on his way to Japan.

Earlier, Bangladesh Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali received Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and the members of his entourage at 12.35 am at the VVIP terminal of Hajrat Shahjalal International Airport.

State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral resources Nasrul Hamid and senior foreign ministry officials accompanied the minister.

Officials from the Embassy of Palestine were also present to receive the Palestinian President.

Ambassadors of the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, Charges de` Affaires of Oman, Egypt, Iraq and Libya and DCM of Morocco were also present to greet the President.
