Veteran journalist Kazi Shiraz passes away

Noted journalist and freedom fighter Kazi Shiraz has passed away at the age of 70.

He breathed his last in his own home at Banasree in Dhaka at 10pm on Thursday.

Joy Shahriar, son of Kazi Shiraz, confirmed the matter through a Facebook post.

He wrote: “My Father Kazi Shiraz passed away tonight at 10pm. Please pray for his departed soul. He was a renowned journalist of the country and a freedom fighter.

“His first namaj e janaja will be held at National Press Club, Dhaka and then last janaja will be held Baad Asar at his home Chiora Kazi Bari, ChouddoGram, Comilla. Then he will be rested at family grave yard.

“Please pray for my father.”
