3 killed as bus plunges into Gopalganj ditch

Three people were killed and thirty others injured as a bus plunged into a roadside ditch in Gopalganj.

The accident took place on Dhaka-Khulna highway at Bedgram area in the district in the wee hours of Sunday.

The two dead men were identified as Mohiuddin Mridha, 35 and his son Rahat Mridha, 5, hailing from Pirojpur.

In this connection, Niamul Huda, Inspector of Gopalganj Fire Brigade told Jagonews24.com that, a Pirojpur-bound bus skidded off the road and fell into the ditch around 4am after its driver lost control over the steering.

On information, police rushed to the spot and sent injured people to Gopalganj Sadar Hospital, he added.
