Don’t misquote me: CJ to journalists

Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha urged the journalists not to misquote his speech.

He came up with the request while speaking at a book unveiling programme held at the Shaheed Shafiur Rahman auditorium of Supreme Court Bar Association on Thursday.

The chief justice told the reporters, “I have a request to you. Don’t misquote me. It creates many misunderstandings.”

“It isn’t possible for me to hold a press conference and say something but I can ask questions to lawyers during hearing of a case in the courtroom.

“If anyone doesn’t know the background and purpose of the question, it may create misunderstanding and that’s why be careful about this,” he added.
