HC summons Bhatara OC over impounding of vehicle

The High Court (HC) today summoned officer in- charge of Bhatara police station in the capital over impounding of a vehicle from the area.

A High Court division bench comprising Justice Quazi Reza-Ul Hoque and Justice Mohammad Ullah passed the order, after holding hearing on a writ petition filed by the owner of the vehicle Momen Uddin.

The court in its order asked the police official to appear before the court at 10.30 am on August 24.

According to the petitioner, he parked his car in front of a mall in the area and went inside for shopping on July 13. In the meantime, police impounded his vehicle and took it to the police station.

Momen filed an application with the police station to get back his vehicle, but failed to get back his car. He repeatedly pleaded to get back his car and subsequently he filed the writ with the High Court.
