Justice Mamtaj Uddin reappointed Press Council chairman

Justice Mohammad Mamtaj Uddin Ahmed (retd) was reappointed as the chairman of the Bangladesh Press Council (BPC) for next two years.

A notification issued by ministry of public administration today said that the government reappointed him for the next two years.

In a separate notification of ministry of information nominated 14 persons as members of the council.

The nominated members are Dainik Samakal Editor Golam Sarwar, News Today Editor Reazuddin Ahmed, Bangla Academy Director General Shamsuzzaman Khan, Parliament Members AKM Rahmatullah and Sukumar Ranjan Ghosh, Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) President Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul, BFUJ Executive Committee Member Swapan Dasgupta, Daily Star Editor Mahfuz Anam, Bangladesh Bar Council Member ZI Khan Panna, Dainik Ittefaq Acting Editor Tasmima Hossain, Dainik Karatoa Editor Mozammel Haque, University Grants Commission Member Professor M Shahnawaz Ali, Bangladesh Pratidin Editor Naem Nizam and BFUJ member Mafida Akbar.
