President, PM condole death of film star Razzak
President M Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed deep shock at the death of celebrated actor and film director Abdur Razzak, popularly known as Nayak Raj Razzak.
Independence Day Award recipient Razzak died of cardiac arrest at a city hospital this afternoon.
In a condolence message, the President said the contribution and huge popularity of Abdur Razzak in Bangladesh film arena will be remembered forever.
President Hamid added: “Razzak’s role in spreading Bengali culture to the globe will be recalled with due respect from generation to generation.”
Recalling the contribution of Razzak to the country’s showbiz, the prime minister said the country’s film arena has lost a legend in his death.
The prime minister particularly recalled the role of Razzak in enriching the film during the post-independence era.
Sheikh Hasina conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family members and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.
Razzak popularly known as Nayak Raj Razzak was the paramount figure in the Dhallywood film industry. This movie star died of cardiac arrest at the United Hospital here at the age of 75.
