Gazipur mill’s machineries gutted

Machineries and raw materials of a cotton mill were gutted by a devastating fire at Banglabazar of Joydebpur upazila in Gazipur on Wednesday morning.
The extent of losses from the fire was not assessed officially.
Joydebpur Fire Station officer Hasibur Rahman confirmed the matter.
He said the fire originated from an electric short circuit at Ambar Cotton Mill at about 7am and burned down cotton, thread and machineries of the mill.
On information, two firefighting units from Joydebpur rushed to the spot and put out the blaze after one hour of frantic efforts, he added.
