Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has conveyed his party’s stance on Supreme Court’s verdict in the case of the 16th constitutional amendment to the President.

He met President Abdul Hamid at the latter’s official residence Bangabhaban on Monday amidst protest of Awami League leaders over the remarks used in the full verdict of the Appellate Division scraping the 16th constitutional amendment.

“I went to speak with president on building roads in his local area. By the way, I informed him our party’s stance on the observation in the verdict of scraping the 16th amendment,” Qauder told journalists after coming out of the meeting.

Earlier, Obaidul Quader, also minister for road transport and bridges, went to the chief justice Surendra Kuman Sinha’s residence on Saturday.
