Writ seeks special Hajj flight in 48-hr
A Supreme Court lawyer filed a writ petition with the High Court seeking its directives on the government to launch special Hajj flight in 48 hours.
Lawyer Monjil Morshed on behalf of Human Rights and Peace for Bangladesh filed the writ petition on Sunday.
Morshed also sought the HC’s direction upon the government to investigate into the mismanagement in the hajj services this year.
Secretaries to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism and one of the Hajj camp were made respondents in the writ.
This year some 127,198 pilgrims will perform Hajj from Bangladesh this year under government and private managements. Of them, 4,230 pilgrims will perform Hajj under the government management.
